Over the past few months, our team at DGWEBFACTORY has been working quietly on a new project — one that sits at the intersection of AI, language, and creativity. Today, we’re excited to share booktranslator.ai with the world: a platform that helps authors, publishers, and content creators translate and localize books using advanced AI.
🧠 Why We Built book translator app?
We noticed a gap in the market — while AI has revolutionized short-form content translation, long-form literary translation remains time-consuming, expensive, and often inaccessible to indie authors and small publishing houses. Traditional localization workflows involve multiple manual steps, human editors, and high costs.
So, we asked ourselves: Can we streamline the process without compromising quality?
🔧 Under the Hood
booktranslator.ai is built using:

Laravel (backend) for robust processing and multi-step job orchestration,

Livewire for a dynamic, real-time user interface,

OpenAI’s GPT models fine-tuned for context-aware literary translation,

And integrations with file conversion pipelines (PDF/ePub/Docx).
We also added a multi-language glossary manager, custom tone presets (formal, friendly, poetic), and chapter-by-chapter feedback previews — tools that help users stay in control while leveraging the speed of AI.
🌍 From Local to Global – no need for actual book translator
The platform currently supports over 50 languages, with early users testing translations into French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Arabic. We’re already seeing authors use it to publish foreign editions of their work on Amazon, Gumroad, and Kobo.
And we’re just getting started.
🧪 What We Learned
Building booktranslator.ai taught us a lot about:

Handling large language model latency in real-time interfaces,

Managing asynchronous translation queues without breaking UX,

And balancing automation with user agency — especially when translating creative writing.
But the biggest lesson? The future of publishing isn’t about replacing humans. It’s about augmenting creators with tools that empower them to reach wider audiences, faster.
